This is the original House of the Fragrant Sun near Dazhongsi temple in Haidian district.  The second branch near the Meishuguan in Dongcheng district is here. 

House of the Fragrant Sun is a small Tibetan style vegetarian restaurant inconspicuously located among a small group of stores next to the Dazhongsi temple entrance on the north 3rd Ring Road.  The interior is very dim and simply decorated with peach-colored walls and some Tibetan hangings.  They have menus with pictures and English translations.  Dishes are cheap, but their selection is relatively small. We had the spicy boiled fish, which was better than most local vegetarian restaurant’s version of the same dish, but no match for Lily’s.  The vegetarian balls with mushrooms and assorted vegetables (pinggu su wanzi) was a wonderful dish.   The cold mixed wood ear was also pretty good.
